Embedded text or transcriptOh! a case of decided wilfull murder. - What do you think? - There can I think be no
doubt that the cut was the proximate cause of death, the deceased having led a bad course of
life. - I think it was a case of natural death. - Now Gentlemen - the evidence is before you,
Post mortem, examination and all - will you have the kindness to consider your verdict. - It is
unnatural to suppose that death would ensue from so "slight a cut" if defunct had not been
previously in a very unsound state of body. - It is my opinion that we should return a verdict of
Felo de se. - "If ever it should become the duty of the Honble. Member for Finsbury to be called
upon to hold an inquest over the 'Cabinet' he would charge the Jury to bring in a verdict of
Felo-de -se." Vide speech of Sir George Sinclair on Irish affairs Apl. 19th 1839
