NotesNews: 7 Nov: The Saudi Arabian ambassador announced the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Britain and France, and to stop exports of oil to both countries.
News: 7 Nov: The Suez Canal and the pipeline terminal ports in Syria and Lebanon were the two channels through which oil from the Middle East was exported to Europe, both channels were now blocked. The Iraq Petroleum Company's pipelines in Syria had been damaged by sabotage.
