Embedded text or transcriptThis is the season of "peace on earth and goodwill to all men" so eighty rounds of fighting have been arranged to take place at the Albert Hall tonight.
Antoine Merlo is contributing or receiving 15 rounds of it. The last time Antoine was in London
He had the misfortune to run
Straight into Elky Clark. Antoine was treated worse at the Albert Hall than the people who go there and play all out of tune.
I don't suppose Antoine knows that the ring is still there or else he wouldn't be coming back again. He has seen the organ and I think he has an idea that he is going
To have a singing lesson.
Another Frenchman Monsieur Romerio is also contributing 15 rounds. Not having the pleasure of Mr Romerio's acquaintance this may not be a speaking likeness but I hope I have got a good one of
Paul Gay who is also in the business for 10 solid rounds
The Frenchmen therefore contribute half the programme. If Napoleon had possessed such fighters instead of gadding around Moscow he would have been in their corner at the Albert Hall getting some real money.
