Notesnews : The Prince of Wales is a direct descendant of Count Dracula, The Sun can reveal. Charles' family tree can be traced back to 15th Century Romanian ruler Vlad the Impaler, who took his name Count Dracul to frighten his enemies. And Vlad, who slaughtered 10,000 Turks in one week by driving stakes through them, inspired novelist Bram Stoker's blood sucking Count Dracula. American historian Robert Davenport makes the discovery in his new book Roots of the Rich and Famous. He discovered Vlad's blood entered Britain through Queen Mary, George V's consort. As Princess Mary of Teck, she was descended from the Austrian royal family of Wurtenburg, which changed its name to Teck. The Tecks were descended from a Hngarian blood line, in turn descended from the Romanian blood line. [Charles Rae, The Sun, October 9th 1998]
