NotesNews : The EU's top banker will axe the Queen's head from our banknotes if Britain joins the single currency. Wim Duisenberg sparked outrage last night by outlawing all national symbols on euro notes. It underlines the massive power of the unelected Dutchman and the European Central Bank of which he is president. For the bank's arrogant ruling ignores EU leaders guarentees that member countries' symbols would be included in euro note designs. The Quenn's head which appears on all british banknotes would be replaced by the 15-star flag of what Duisenberg yesterday chillingly called "Euroland".
