NotesNews: The Queen's senior advisers have dubbed Tony Blair the "head-of-state-in-waiting" or "President Blair" and accused the prime minister of claiming the credit for the reforms being introduced by the royal family. Ministers deny any rift with Buckingham Palace but admit some courtiers oppose Blair's moves to encourage a "people's monarchy". A senior figure who advises the royals said: "there is a feeling that the government wants to make sure it gets the kudos. At first it was seen as overexuberance by a new government but there is concern that it is still going on"
