NotesImage 1: See 19928 for published cartoon. News: 15 March: An unprecedented campaign of misrepresentation had been launched against the Industrial Relations Bill, said Mr Carr. The economy would be damaged by the threatened strike against the Bill. The stoppage was at the behest of the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers and a few smaller unions, with the active support of the Transport and General Workers' Union. But it was against the advice of the TUC.
