NotesNews: 1 Jan: Hitler broadcast to the German people. He was said to be speaking from his headquarters. ".... I am making fewer speeches at present not because I do not want to speak or am not able to speak, but because my work leaves me little time for talking, and because I leblieve that to-day I should use every hour for contemplating and planning how to inclrease the strenght of resistance of our armies, how to introduce better weapons, how to set on foot ever fresh formation, and how to get from my people every ounce of strenth which can be mobilised. ...." He gained support for his views on German nationalism, anti-Semitism, anti-capitalism and anti-communism through his impassioned speeches and propaganda. He wanted to establish a New Order of absolute rule in Europe and pursued a policy of seizing land by force for the Aryan people.
