NotesNews: 3 Sep: Vickers Oceanics, operators of the Pisces craft hauled 1,375 ft to safety after 76 hours at the bottom of the Atlantic, 94 miles off Co Cork were conducting an inquiry into the incident. Sir Leonard Redshaw, the company's chairman, disclosed that a missing cover on the Pisces III's hatch-opening mechanism may have started the chain of events that sank the submarine.
