Notes | News: 17 Feb: Ford's main assembly plants at Dagenham, Halewood and Langley were threatened with closure with 20,000 men laid off unless the Swansea strikers returned to work within the next forty-eight hours. In spite of its labour force only being 1,500 Swansea produces every axle used by the company and only two days worth of stock are held at the other plants. |
