Embedded text or transcriptWe hear a lot about this prosperity. We will go to the zoo, where they arrange
these things. Ah! Here is Mr. Chimplepoop delivering his Budget to the House of Comics.
"During the past year" he says, "I have cut off six inches from everybody's Tail. This has
proved too much. I propose to restore to each tail one inch." (LOUD APPLAUSE) It is agreed
that this denotes great prosperity and that Mr. Chimplepoop is very clever. Interviewed at
the Camping Exhibition, the Minister of Health said that he was pleased with the progress
that had been made in tents. He confided to Low that he thought that he had a solution of
the Housing Problem at last. Mon Repos. Suitable for married couple with children There has
been so much progress, it seems, that the Govt. has decided to advance the clocks one hour
immediately. The custodian of BIG BEN tells Low that they can do this and still have 5
minutes to spare. The bones of a prehistoric brontosaurus were discovered last week nr
Maidenhead. According to our Bones Expert, Mr.Mussolini, this is evidence of almost
incredible prosperity. Over a cup of soup with Low the President of the Royal Academy was
optimistic. "The output of boiled Mayors," he said, "Has greatly increased. Scenery is
steady." Already, we hear, the Lawn Tennis authorities are negotiating for a restoration of
the cuts. In short, as Low's friend Colonel Blimp said in the Turkish Bath only yesterday,
"Gad, sir, Lord Beaverbrook is right. Splendid isolation is the policy for England. If we
refuse to trade with the dashed foreigners in Ireland Wales and Scotland, and send the
dashed Dominions about their business, the future will be in sight"
