The Stefani Agency, which had earlier given the total death-roll in Milan, Genoa and Savona
as 122, stated that 354 people were killed when an air-raid shelter in Genoa was hit in the
raid on Oct. 22. Middle-East: Heavy fighting continued throughout the day and night in
which the Allies consolidated all their position gained, mopped up pockets of enemy
resistance, and probed still further into the strong enemy defence positions at some points
in an attempt to make room for the armoured forces to deploy; some minor engagement with
