Ministry of Supply Bill - Second Reading. - The Ministry of Supply Bill received its second
reading in the House of Commons on June 8. Mr Burgin, Minister of Supply, said that in
introducing the bill he was influenced by four major considerations: 1) to strengthen the
Royal Ordnance factories and to create in strategic points further Royal Ordnance
productive power; 2) to utilise to the full the armament firms; 3) to broaden the basis of
supply by sub-contracting as widely as possible; 4) to plan the utilisation for armaments
