NotesFO0140-180: Last meeting with Rufus's uncle - "Travelling on the top of a bus, Flook organises a fish-tasting, fried over a passenger's pipe. None is left for the friends, and Flook's subsequent greediness for ice-cream leaves him and Rufus penniless, and obliged to share a tramp's Embankment bench for the night. There they are found by Rufus's uncle, now converted to being an animal lover. His house, and attention, are monopolised by his menageries, and to the consequent discomfort of Rufus's homecoming is added danger, when Flook mistakes an ostrich egg for a football and kicks it. The mother bird's pursuit of him annoys a military neighbour, and he escapes over the house-tops just ahead of an avenging cannon-ball." Artwork not dated, date taken from an old catalogue.
