NotesNews: Mar. 25. Prince Paul, the Yugoslav Regent, signs a pact with Germany Axis. Mar. 27. Ominous reports of German troop movements towards the Yugoslav border came from Sofia last night, following the overthrow of the pro-Axis Tsvetkovitch government. The coup d'etat, organised by General Simovitch, is regarded as a serious setback to German military and political plans for the Balkans. Berlin reacted by asking if the new government intended to endorse the exsiting Axis Pact. It is out of the question. Last night the people took to the streets shouting "Down with the traitors" British and Russian flags were carried side-by-side by demontrators crying "Down with Hitler". Immediately the coup was knwon to have succeeded the Council of Regency resigned and King Peter, who is 17, assumed full powers as sovereign.
