NotesI.R.A. - Prevention of Violence (Temporary Provision) Bill - Third Reading - Bomb explosions in London and Liverpool. The House of Commons gave an unopposed third reading to the Prevention of Violence (Temporary Provision) Bill on July 26. During the Committee stage an amendment, proposed by Sir Samuel Hoare, providing that suspected persons liable to expulsion can be heard in self-defence by an adviser appointed by the Home Secetary, was accepted. ... The same day two serious bomb explosions, assumed to be the work of the I.R.A., occurred in London in cloakrooms at King's Cross, L.N.E.R. terminus and at Victoria Station...[Keesing's Contemporary Archives p.3661]
