Embedded text or transcriptDear, dear! This St. George's by-election is very perplexing. According to Mr. Baldwin and Mr. Duff Cooper those who oppose them are "insolent and irresponsible plutocrats."
Lord Beaverbrook denies this, and affirms that, as to himself, he is a working man of humble parentage. On the other hand he says that Mr. Baldwin "is a very rich man who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth."
Again, Mr. Duff Cooper and Mr. Baldwin complain that there is a "press vendetta" of 7 newspapers against them -
to which Lord B. replies that he himself (Lord B.) is the victim of a "press vendetta" of 12 newspapers

Paper for the Beaverbrook vendetta
Low is anxiously awaiting the verdict of the electors. This uncertainty as to whether he is a respectable cartoonist or only a mere plutocrat engaged in a vendetta is breaking his heart.
Kind hearts are more than coronets, Sir
