Over the years, Prince Charles has voiced his opinions on matters as diverse as architecture, farming and alternative medicine. So perhaps it was only to be expected that a member of his household staff being seconded to the Cabinet Office would spark panic across Whitehall. News of the young employee's work experience at the department running policy enforcement inevitably led to claims that the prince had planted a "superspy" at the heart of Government.
