NotesThe Sun newspaper's leading article: "With scarcely a word of debate, the biggest change to our way of life since the Normans landed in 1066 is planned. The European Constitution, drawn up by a former French President with the full support of Tony Blair, will destroy our democracy; lose us our liberty and sacrifice our sovereignty. It is nothing short of a surrender of everything this country stands for and which it has fought for centuries to protect and enjoy. Britain would lose the identity which makes it stand apart from Europe and, indeed, the rest of the world. ... Our place at the UN top table would be taken by a representative of the United States of Europe. ...." [The Sun]
