NotesNews: 25 Apr: Tony Blair was attacked yesterday over his proposal to reward young thugs who stay out of trouble with computer games. It's the second time an initiative by the Prime Minister to tackle yob culture has backfired. Opponents have dismissed it as a "youth bribe". Last year, his plan to give police the power to march hooligans to cashpoints to make them pay £100 on-the-spot fines was abandoned as unworkable. Mr Blair's latest anti-yob strategy would see youngsters on high-crime estates given clothes, music or computer vouchers if they stop offending. [Daily Mirror]
