NotesNews; 20 June: The world's leading tennis players decided to boycott the Wimbledon championships after the High Court in London refused an injunction to lift the suspension of the Yugoslav player, Mr Nikola Pilic.
News: 21 June: Talks between the Chrysler management and the union leaders broke down. The workers had walked-out three weeks ago after allegations by the management that shoddy workmanship on the assembly lines was causing production hold-ups.
News: 23 June: President Nixon and Mr Brezhnev signed an agreement calling for the prevention of nuclear war and a commitment to try to end the strategic arms race. The new agreement committed the Russians and Americans to proceed from the premise that they forswear the use of force against each other, against each other's allies, and against any other country in circumstances which may endanger international peace and security.
