NotesNews: 17 Apr: The United States ordered its bombers back into action in Laos less than two months after the signing of the ceasefire agreement. The bombing was announced following the reported seizure by communist forces of the town of Tha Vieng.
News: 21 Apr: Mr John Mitchell, the former Attorney General and Republican Party chairman, appeared before the grand jury investigating the Watergate affair and Republican espionage operation. Before going before the grand jury, he admitted that he had attended several meetings at which bugging and other spy operations against the Democrats were discussed.
