NotesNews: 2 Nov: A joint negotiating panel of the Union of Post Office Workers and the Telecommunications Staff Association would not be in the best interests of industrial relations in the Post Office, said Mr Tom Jackson, general secretary of the UPW. He was giving evidence in the National Industrial Relations Court on the seventh day of the application by the TSA to have its claim to bargain on behalf of Post Office telephonists referred to the Commission on Industrial Relations
News: 3 Nov: The tripartite talks between the Government, the TUC, and the Confederation of British Industry collapsed in final failure at 10 Downing Street at about 10 o'clock last night.
