NotesNews: 23 Jan: Mr Heath signed the Treaty which enlarged the European Economic Community, and Euratom to include Britain, Ireland, Norway and Denmark.
News: 23 Jan: A German woman from London threw printer's ink over Mr Heath at the foot of the marble staircase of the Egmont Palace in Brussels. Her protest was at the redevelopment of the Covent Garden Market. The incident delayed the opening of the signing ceremony.
