NotesNews: 11 Dec: Mr Davies, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, indicated that the Government had ruled out the possibility of cancelling the Concorde supersonic airliner project. This cleared the way for full-scale production in Britain and for selling the aircraft to BOAC and Air France.
News: 13 Dec: Concorde 001 brought President Pompidou to the Azores for a two-day meeting with President Nixon. A thunderstorm and heavy rain tested the French prototype to the utmost.
News: 14 Dec: The outline of a monetary and trade settlement between the enlarged European Community and the United States was discussed at summit talks between President Nixon and President Pompidou in the Azores.
