NotesNews: 19 July: Spanish authorities expelled 50 hippies from Ibiza after the police broke up a gathering by firing into the air. Unofficial sources said that two people were wounded by gunshot when police fired in the air and 20 others were clubbed unconscious. News: 19 July: Mr Wilson rejected the terms offered by the Six for Britain's entry into the EEC. Mr Wilson placed himself in the position where he could claim to be consistent in supporting entry in principle while denouncing the terms offered by the Six. His speech left little room for compromise Mr Jenkins and other pro-Market members of the collective leadership of the Labour Party. News: 20 July: Mr Jenkins challenged Mr Wilson's attitude towards the terms for Britain's entry into the EEC and criticised Mr Wilson's "kith and kin" argument for Commonwealth trade.
