NotesNews: 28 June: Fred Peart, former Minister of Agriculture and a member of the Labour Shadow Cabinet said: "Whatever has emerged in the negotiations in Brussels and the Heath-Pompidou meeting, there is one certainty: our full acceptance of the Common Agricultural Policy means preference for French farmers as against Commonwealth farmers in the British food market." News: 28 June: M Pompidou spoke to an audience of French dairy farmers and said: "Britain imports 75,000 tons of cheese from New Zealand every year. Under the rules of the Common Market, these imports will diminish and tend to disappear. There is a new possibility for you and you must choose it."
