NotesNews: 22 June: Negotiations continued between Geoffrey Rippon and the foreign ministers of the EEC regarding the question of New Zealand's exports of butter and cheese. The expected proposal from the EEC was unlikely to be acceptable to Britain as it involved too sharp a reduction in New Zealand's guaranteed exports after British entry to the Common Market. News: 23 June: The duke of Edinburgh made a speech to the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth which was construed as anti-Common Market in tone.
