NotesNews: 4 March: A peace formula was agreed between both sides in the Post Office dispute
after 14 hours of talks. The 200,000 members of the Union of Post Office Workers were to be
balloted. The union was asking its members to support the setting up of a committee of
inquiry to investigate the 13 per cent pay claim.
