Notes | News: 19 December: The Roskill commission on the siting of the third London airport recommended Cublington, Buckinghamshire, rather than Foulness on the Essex coast. Davies gave a summary of the Roskill report in Parliament. Professor Colin Buchanan objected to this decision stating that the environmental disadvantages of Cublington were many and serious. The noise damage and other loss affecting the Vale of Aylesbury and the loss of Stewkley church were harsh sacrifices. |
