NotesNews: 1 October: A boy aged four escaped being crushed to death when he was discovered in the back of a dustcart fitted with a hydraulic ram. He had crawled into a paper refuse sack outside his home and was thrown into the cart by dustmen. He was found when he panicked and started crying.
