Notes | News: 7 September: Vic Feather took the plunge at Rottingdean when he opened a new swimming pool at a convalescent home for members of Sogat (Society of Graphical and Allied Trades). News: 8 September: The first major attack on government policies was led by Hugh Scanlon, president of the 1,250,000-strong engineering union.
