NotesNews: 4 August: The Distillers Company Ltd., the largest single producer of Scotch whisky planed to increase wholesale prices on all its whisky and gin brands from October 1. News: 4 August: Counsel for Charles Manson, defendant in the Sharon Tate murder trial in Los Angeles, demanded that the case be dismissed because of remarks made by Nixon. He had told reporters that Manson was guilty, directly or indirectly of eight murders.
